Orthopaedics is the branch of medicine that deals with the prevention or correction of injuries or disorders of the skeletal system and associated muscles, joints, and ligaments.
Our most commonly treated joint conditions at Kentdales Referrals include cranial cruciate ligament rupture, hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia and patella luxation.
In addition to this, we see many patients that have fractured bones as a result of trauma or that have limb deformities that benefit from correction.
We offer a wide variety of treatments for orthopaedic disease which includes arthroscopy, fracture repair, joint replacement, joint resurfacing and arthrodesis (joint fusion) in addition to many specific surgical procedures including tibial plateau levelling osteotomy for cruciate ligament rupture.
We have two sterile operating theatres at and base in Cumbria. Both incorporate positive pressure ventilation with HEPA filtration which constantly removes airborne pathogens and reduces the chance of contamination during surgery.
