‘OUTSTANDING’ ACHIEVEMENT AS WE EARN HAT-TRICK OF RCVS AWARDS

The team here at Kentdale are over the moon to have been formally recognised for our outstanding care of small animals with three prestigious awards from the veterinary industry’s regulatory body.

We have received the separate accreditations from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) as part of its Practice Standards Scheme (PSS), earning ‘outstanding’ recognition in client service, in-patient service, plus team and professional responsibility.

Client service is awarded for excellence in customer experience, in-patient service demonstrates excellence in the service provided to patients staying with us, while team and professional responsibility awards cohesive and responsible teams.

The PSS is a voluntary initiative to accredit veterinary practices in the UK and aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care.

A spokesperson from the RCVS said: “We are delighted to be able to give Kentdale these ‘outstanding’ awards in three categories, which recognise they are maintaining standards above and beyond our stringent PSS accreditation requirements.

“The whole team at Kentdale Referrals, which already holds the RCVS Practice Standards Hospital accreditation, were welcoming, friendly, professional and proud to show how the hospital goes above and beyond to deliver an outstanding service to their patients and clients.”

The RCVS also singled out Lauren Bowe, one of our amazing Veterinary Nurses, for coordinating and preparing the team for the awards assessment, recognising the energy required to prepare a team for three awards should not be underestimated.

Further praise was given by the RCVS to Emma Dever, our Head of Nursing Services, Vicki Earl, our Client Care Manager, and Sharon Murtagh, Hospital Director here at Kentdale, who all supported Lauren during the pre-inspection process and who were friendly and welcoming when the RCVS visited, helping them to complete the assessment.

The RCVS spokesperson continued: “The team’s passion and dedication to deliver excellence is reflected in how well they performed, gaining outstanding in all three awards they were assessed for.”

Sharon said: “We could not be prouder to have achieved outstanding RCVS accreditation in a further three categories.

“Our team is passionate about the high standards of patient and client care that we offer, and these latest RCVS accreditations offer us the framework to be the best possible referral practice with the highest possible standards.”

For practices to be accredited under the PSS, they need to meet a broad range of stringent standards, all observed during a rigorous independent assessment completed every four years, and subject to intermittent spot checks.
