European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery
Gemma graduated from the University of Bristol in 2009 and spent seven years in general small animal practice. During this time Gemma became acting Clinical Director of a group of practices in Surrey and gained the GPcertSAS post graduate qualification in surgery.
In 2016 Gemma joined a referral practice in the Northwest of England, completing the RCVS certificate in small animal surgery and becoming an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery as well as becoming accredited as a Biomedtrix Universal Hip Replacement surgeon. In 2023 Gemma completed the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) Diploma in Small Animal Surgery becoming a European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery.
Gemma enjoys both Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Surgery and has interests in joint replacement, reconstructive surgery, and spinal procedures.
Outside of work Gemma enjoys kayaking, cycling, and getting out in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside with her two rescue terriers.
